Backpacking Arkansas at Cane Creek State Park
After months of cold winter weather with record snowfalls and low temps, the weekend forecast was for one of the finest weekends in months. The youngest offspring agreed to join me in an overnight backpacking trip in Cane Creek State Park near Star City, Arkansas. The overall distance was 12 miles round trip.
Also, the park had a controlled burn on the day before, so we were able to enjoy several miles of blackened landscape seen through a romantic smoke filled haze. Here's some of what we experienced:
